Why Nord°

Details change the experience.

Five areas guide how a Nord° product is designed, documented and followed up. Each one starts from a question we hear in clinics, not from a claim we want to make.

01

Movement

Every degree matters.

Knee flexion, range of motion, sizing, gait, comfort, safety and independence.

Challenge
The last degrees of knee flexion are where users report effort: sitting down, standing up, stairs, inclines, cycling, driving.
Why it matters
Restriction at end range does not show up as a broken component. It shows up as a day that takes more energy than it needed to.
Our approach
We design thickness, conicity and textile behaviour around the movements people actually repeat, and we change one variable at a time when we test.
Evidence
Gait cases, mechanical tests and sizing protocols.

02

Material

Look beyond the label.

Materials should be judged on properties and behaviour, not on family names like TPE or silicone.

Challenge
A material family name is used as if it described performance. Two products in the same family can behave nothing alike.
Why it matters
Formulation, thickness, geometry and textile explain most of what a user feels. The family name explains very little.
Our approach
Every Nord° Formula is a defined blend with a documented purpose, paired with a specified textile and wall thickness.
Evidence
Formulation data, textile specification and long-term load testing.

03

User perspective

Different perspectives. One outcome.

Clinical, user and payer priorities need to be connected around a better outcome.

Challenge
The clinic, the user and the payer each judge the same solution against different criteria, often without a shared language.
Why it matters
When those criteria are not connected, a technically correct fitting can still be the wrong result for the person using it.
Our approach
We publish the same technical reality in three translations, so a conversation can happen instead of three parallel monologues.
Evidence
User interviews, clinical cases and follow-up over time.

04

Responsibility

Measure first. Claim second.

Fact-based sustainability, product-level LCA, traceability and no exaggeration.

Challenge
Sustainability claims are often made at company level, where they are impossible to check against the product being delivered.
Why it matters
A procurement decision needs product-level data with a stated boundary, not a general statement of intent.
Our approach
We publish product-level CO2e where an LCA is complete and say 'LCA in progress' where it is not.
Evidence
Product-level LCA following ISO 14040/44 principles, and material traceability.

05

Knowledge

Better answers lead to better outcomes.

Troubleshooting, instructions, research and practical tools that build trust.

Challenge
When something does not work, the first question asked is often about the product rather than about the situation.
Why it matters
A better first question saves a fitting, a size change, or a month of discomfort.
Our approach
We publish symptom-led troubleshooting, check questions and research notes that state what a result does not show.
Evidence
Research notes, instructions and documented method.

Specifications, sizing and part numbers

Every product page carries its Nord° Formula, dimensions, colour, weight, production origin and the complete part-number table, as documented.

Product-level CO2e

Life cycle assessment per product and size, with the method stated. Where an assessment is not complete, the page says so.

Practical knowledge

Washing, sizing, donning and doffing, sleeve movement, lotion and product identification, written in the words users and clinics use.

Next step

A better decision starts with a closer look.
