Details change the experience.

NordAbility develops liners, sleeves and prosthetic solutions around the small choices that influence movement, comfort, handling and everyday experience.

Movement

Every degree matters.

Standing up from a chair is a movement most people never think about. With a prosthesis, the same movement asks something of the knee, the socket, the liner and the sleeve at the same time.

How effortless does knee flexion really feel — while sitting, when standing up, when walking inclines or stairs? Those questions guide how we choose wall thickness, geometry and textile behaviour. The everyday answer is what we design around.

Why Nord°

Five things we work on, and what we can show for each.

Each area starts with a challenge we see in practice, states why it matters, describes the Nord° approach and links to the material behind it.

01

Movement

Every degree matters.

Challenge
The last degrees of knee flexion are where users report effort: sitting down, standing up, stairs, inclines, cycling, driving.
Why it matters
Restriction at end range does not show up as a broken component. It shows up as a day that takes more energy than it needed to.
The Nord° approach
We design thickness, conicity and textile behaviour around the movements people actually repeat, and we change one variable at a time when we test.

02

Material

Look beyond the label.

Challenge
A material family name is used as if it described performance. Two products in the same family can behave nothing alike.
Why it matters
Formulation, thickness, geometry and textile explain most of what a user feels. The family name explains very little.
The Nord° approach
Every Nord° Formula is a defined blend with a documented purpose, paired with a specified textile and wall thickness.

03

User perspective

Different perspectives. One outcome.

Challenge
The clinic, the user and the payer each judge the same solution against different criteria, often without a shared language.
Why it matters
When those criteria are not connected, a technically correct fitting can still be the wrong result for the person using it.
The Nord° approach
We publish the same technical reality in three translations, so a conversation can happen instead of three parallel monologues.

04

Responsibility

Measure first. Claim second.

Challenge
Sustainability claims are often made at company level, where they are impossible to check against the product being delivered.
Why it matters
A procurement decision needs product-level data with a stated boundary, not a general statement of intent.
The Nord° approach
We publish product-level CO2e where an LCA is complete and say 'LCA in progress' where it is not.

Knowledge

Better answers lead to better outcomes.

Challenge
When something does not work, the first question asked is often about the product rather than about the situation.
Why it matters
A better first question saves a fitting, a size change, or a month of discomfort.
The Nord° approach
We publish symptom-led troubleshooting, check questions and research notes that state what a result does not show.

Nord° TT

Designed to work together.

The Nord° TT Liner and the Nord° Sleeve are developed around compatible principles: the same custom TPE formulas, related wall geometries and a shared focus on knee flexion and handling. They are intended to work well together in a TT fitting.

Each product is documented separately, and both can be used with components from other manufacturers. Whether the combination is appropriate for an individual is a clinical decision made with the user.

Proof & transparency

Measure first. Claim second.

We publish what has been measured and name what has not. Nothing on this page is an estimate presented as a result.

Product-level LCA

Published

CO2e per product, per size

Life cycle assessment conducted following the principles of ISO 14040/44 and Environmental Footprint 3.0, published per product and size where complete, and marked 'LCA in progress' where it is not.

Product specifications

Published

Formula, dimensions, sizing and part numbers

Every product publishes its Nord° Formula, length or height, colour, weight, production origin and full part-number table, exactly as documented.

Materials & traceability

Published

Textile, packaging and production origin

Recycled polyamide and elastane content, packaging material share and the country each part is produced in are stated on the product page.

Knowledge

Better answers lead to better outcomes.

Practical questions, answered in the same words users and clinics actually use.

This site does not provide diagnosis or individual clinical advice. If you have pain, skin changes or any health concern, contact your CPO or healthcare professional.

Next step

A better decision starts with a closer look.

Ask for a sample, a specification or a conversation about a specific fitting. We would rather be tested than believed.
